STEEL BRIDGE SONGFEST
A grassroots music festival held each summer
in Door County's Historic Downtown Sturgeon Bay.
Steel Bridge Songfest not only benefits the Door County music scene by importing hundreds of world-class musical acts and showcasing local talent, but also promotes the preservation of Door County's historical structures, such as the Michigan Street Bridge, a Veterans' memorial dating back to 1931 that locals lovingly refer to as the Steel Bridge. Once threatened with demolition over restoration, the Steel Bridge has been saved from the wrecking ball by the funds and awareness raised by Steel Bridge Songfest, and is now protected by the National Register of Historic Places.
Each year, the Holiday Music Motel plays host to the many songwriters involved in Steel Bridge Songfest, offering lodging, serving as a hub for collaboration, and providing recording and mastering services with several world renowned sound engineers onsite.
